Navigational charts unveiled

New charts for Nigeria

NIGERIA: Celebrating World Hydrographic Day yesterday, the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority unveiled the navigational charts for the River Alape.

“I am honoured to participate in this year's World Hydrographic Day celebration. I equally want to take out this moment to thank and congratulate you, the Nigerian Navy Hydrographic office (NNHO) and the Nigerian Hydrographic Society (NHS) on this historic occasion of 2023 World Hydrographic Day celebration with the thought-provoking themes Hydrography: Underpinning the Digital Twin of the Ocean,” said Chief Dr George Moghalu.

“This year's theme (Hydrography: Underpinning The Digital Twin of The Ocean) is thought-provoking and challenging as it is spurring the Inland Waterways to acknowledge your important role and contribution particularly to navigation on our waterways and in general maritime development of Nigeria. We thank you for playing a key role in the business of safety and secured navigation in our waterways,” he added.
