New vessel build for fishing programme

New contract for fishing vessels signed

DRC: The Democratic Republic of Congo has signed a contract for the delivery of seven new fishing vessels to operate on lakes and along the coast.

Citing the contract as a significant milestone for the shipyard, Aresa Shipyards confirmed the project which will see the delivery of a variety of vessel sizes as well as a comprehensive training and maintenance programme in the country.

The vessels will operate in Lake Albert, Lake Tanganyika and the Atlantic Ocean coast, which represents a great opportunity to strengthen the local fishing industry and contribute to the sustainable development of the region.
