Seeking input for annual research publication

Call for papers

SOUTH AFRICA: Now in its second edition, the South African Journal of Maritime Education and Training (SAJMET), published annually by the South African International Maritime Institute (SAIMI), has issued a call for original paper submissions.

The Journal provides a forum for researchers, engineers, navigators, economists, ergonomists, and policymakers with an interest in maritime research to share their ideas through research papers.

The focus of SAJMET is high-quality, interdisciplinary scholarly research that addresses current and future issues and challenges related to skills development covering maritime education and training in its broadest sense, and specifically related to seafarer training; fisheries and aquaculture; marine manufacturing; ports and harbours; marine tourism; maritime law and policy, marine technology, and robotics.

From contemporary issues to scientific, technological, political, economic, cultural and social aspects of maritime related subjects, SAJMET will include innovative, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research on marine and maritime education and training, within an African context.

 SUBMISSION SCHEDULE
 11 November 2023  Submission of abstract (not more than 300 words)
 30 November 2023  Authors will be advised of suitability
 12 April 2024  Submission of complete manuscript (~ 5000 words)
