African expansion strategy strengthened with new Cape Town office

Bunker company announces its presence

SOUTH AFRICA: Newcomer to the South African landscape, Global Fuel Supply, together with Blue Energy Partners has officially opened an office in Cape Town as the company continues to focus on an African expansion strategy that included the acquisition of a bunker barge for Angola last month.

Establishing a local presence in Cape Town enables the group to work closely with regional stakeholders, suppliers, and partners, while providing customers with on-the-ground expertise and faster execution.

“The opening of our Cape Town office is a key milestone in our African expansion strategy and a natural development alongside our established physical supply operations in Angola,” says Lamin Bara, Chief Commercial Officer. “Africa continues to play an increasingly important role in global trade and marine energy activities, and a presence in South Africa allows us to scale our capabilities across the continent.”

The South African office’s first hire is Jacqui Taylor, who joins as Senior Fuel Supplier. With 25 years of industry experience, Jacqui brings extensive expertise in offshore logistics, vessel operations, voyage planning, and regulatory compliance. Her track record includes managing complex marine operations, such as the relocation of drilling rigs, offshore assets, and Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) in demanding environments.

“With strong access to regional suppliers and Jacqui’s deep experience in African marine energy operations, we are well positioned to support our global customer base with reliable, tailored marine logistics solutions throughout Africa,” adds Lamin Bara.

“Establishing a permanent office in South Africa is an important step for the business,” says Jacqui Taylor, Senior Fuel Supplier. “It allows us to be closer to our customers and operations, understand local requirements in detail, and manage risks more effectively. I’m looking forward to building a strong local operation that delivers consistent, reliable support to our customers in the region.”

Camilla Marie Christensen, Trading Director, highlights the strategic value of the new hub:

“With the opening of our Cape Town office, we are significantly strengthening our ability to support customers in the region. Closer proximity enables faster execution, and tighter operational control. Jacqui’s hands-on experience and local oversight provide our customers with confidence and security when placing orders with us. This presence ensures optimal coverage, efficient logistics, and a consistently high level of service across Southern Africa.”
