Dedicated grape service for South Africa

Fresh sailing routes

SOUTH AFRICA: Hapag-Lloyd will offer dedicated weekly sailings for fresh grapes and fruit from South Africa to Europe from the end of December on their reefer fleet to accommodate exports.

The service will be offered alongside their South Africa Express (SAX) service to add extra capacity, equipment, and frequency to Northern Europe throughout the season. The service will call Cape Town and connect with our West Europe - West Africa (WWA) service in Luanda, sailing directly to Rotterdam. Should Cape Town be windbound, Port Elizabeth is available as an alternative call.

The new service aims to provide a reliable connection and a protected cold chain for this important cargo that is a crucial export at this time of year.
