Lifesaving equipment under scrutiny

Call for comments on Lifesaving Equipment and Fire Appliances Regulations

SOUTH AFRICA: The Minister of Transport has called for comments on the draft the draft Merchant Shipping (Life-Saving Equipment and Fire Appliances) Regulations, 2025.

Industry has until December 14 to submit written comments to the Department of Transport.  The regulations seek to clarify the required safety equipment for all classes of vessels.
