WMU Webinar
Participate in the World Maritime University Alumni webinar focused on: National Pathways to Maritime Decarbonization: Aligning Global Ambitions with Local Action.
DATE: 09 December 2025
VENUE: Virtual
FORMAT: Webinar
COST: Free
The drive toward maritime decarbonization is transforming the global shipping industry, guided by the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. However, real progress depends on how individual nations translate these global commitments into effective national frameworks. This webinar will explore how countries develop and implement policies, strategies, and partnerships to support low-carbon maritime operations. It will highlight national action plans, investment in green port infrastructure, alternative fuels, and capacity development initiatives that bridge global ambitions with local realities.
Diverse regional experiences and practical solutions for maritime decarbonization that speak to national commitments will be highlighted. The goal is to inspire collaboration among policymakers, maritime professionals, and researchers committed to advancing national and global efforts toward a cleaner, more resilient, and competitive maritime future.
