Managing Director of NIWA

NIGERIA: Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji has assumed duty at the  eighth  Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority in Nigeria. NIWA

In his inaugural speech, Alh. Munirudeen thanked the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as the Hon Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola for giving him the opportunity to serve his country in this capacity. He also thanked the management of the Authority for the warm reception accorded to him and his well-wishers.

Addressing staff of the Authority, he promised to have an open-door policy as a team leader and not a boss. He assured the union leadership of a smooth working relationship between them for the betterment of the Authority.

According to news reports in the country, Oyebamiji is an experienced banker of more than 28 years and has served as a two-term Commissioner for Finance during the administrations of former Governors Rauf Aregbesola and Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State. He is a holder of Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria; the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria; and the Association of Enterprise Risk Management Professionals, Nigeria.

He was also part of the delegation of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy to the recently concluded UNGA ’78 led by HE Gboyega Oyetola, the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, in the United States.
