Digesting business nuggets over breakfast

OMS hosts clients for book launch

SOUTH AFRICA: In a generous invitation to clients and service providers, Offshore Maritime Services (OMS) hosted an intimate breakfast session with business coach and author, Kathi Hyde to introduce them to her style of coaching and launch her new book, Just Whose Business Is It?

Having benefited from her unique style of coaching, Godfrey Needham, founder of OMS hoped that the opportunity would help those in his business environment identify future solutions to develop their own organisations.

“Small businesses can save the day,” Hyde told guests at the Royal Cape Yacht Club as she introduced ten distinct types of business personalities and highlighted both their strengths and weaknesses in developing sustainable business models.

“Our businesses often mirror us,” she said as she warned that oftentimes small business owners tend to get in their own way of success.

Introducing his business mentor, Needham spoke about the value the relationship with Hyde has had on the success of his own company and how it has helped him establish the type of business that has been able to scale as well as ultimately offer him an exit when he wants to retire.

Hyde’s book is written to provide a blueprint for any type of business owner to “fix” how they work within their companies and ultimately create a profitable organisation that allows for a successful exit.

Guests at the breakfast included ships agents as well as marketing and creative business owners. Members of the OMS team were also invited to hear how Hyde recounted how many of the ownership strategies could be applied to team leaders within organisations.
