Port equipment delivered to bolster performance

Milestone in port development programme

EGYPT: The arrival of the Zhenhua 35 vessel at the Port of Said has marked the delivery of port equipment aimed at enhancing operational capabilities and includes the offloading of four Super Post-Panamax ZPMC Quay Cranes as well as Electric Rubber-Tyred Gantry ZPMC Cranes.

The Super Post-Panamax ZPMC Quay Cranes are engineered to handle twin 65-ton containers and heavy lifts of up to 100 tons, boasting a 72-metre boom outreach. The six Electric Rubber-Tyred Gantry ZPMC Cranes are equipped with state-of-the-art automation and remote-control features.

“The new STS and RTG cranes are not merely technological upgrades, they symbolise our unwavering commitment to enhancing our capabilities and meeting the demands of a rapidly evolving industry for our customers,” said SCCT`s CEO Keld Mosgaard Christensen adding that, as part of the APM Terminals and AP Moller-Maersk Family, their expansion aligns with the company’s growth strategies.

“SCCT`s expansion project represents a significant investment in our economy and the future of our people, customers, stakeholders, and the communities we serve,” he said.

“This accomplishment stands as a testament to the dedication and hard work of a daily average team of over 3,500 professionals, who have collectively invested more than 6 million man-hours in a culture of safety and professional excellence,” noted Pillarisetti Ravindranath, project director.
