Joint patrol to deter piracy

CMF and EUNAVFOR undertake joint patrol

A joint patrol aimed at deterring piracy and armed robbery in the Gulf of Aden, Socotra Gap and along Somali east coast through coordinated patrols by five vessels from the Combine Maritime Forces (CMF) and European Union Naval Forces (EUNAVFOR) last month.

The JS Asahi, PNS Hunain, PMSS Kolachi, ROKNS Munmu The Great and ESPS Reina Sofia focused on enhancing interoperability. The operation, Enduring Resolve, involved close communications and enhanced information sharing between both task forces in order to optimise the use of assets and de-conflict lines of effort while ensuring mutual support.

CMF leadership and commanders of both task forces are committed to augment multinational counter-piracy efforts with tighter operational coordination and enhanced information sharing.
