South African Seafarer Survey

Maritime Review Africa is launching our inaugural annual South African Seafarer Survey. This comprehensive survey aims to take the pulse of the local seafaring community and gather insights into the current working conditions, challenges, and overall experiences of those who chose a career at sea.

This annual survey will establish an ongoing platform for seafarers' voices to be heard. The more responses received, the more accurate understanding can be gained of the occupation's unique demands, hardships faced, areas needing improvement, and impact on personal/family life.

All South African seafarers are urged to participate as we get ready to recognise the contributions made by seafarers on 25 June – the International Day of the Seafarer.

We welcome input from every sector - from merchant marines to fishing fleets to cruise lines and more.

The inaugural South African Seafarer Survey is a call for all hands on deck towards collecting information that can assist to advocate for a healthier, more sustainable future for local seafarers.
