FAIRSHIP SA MARINE BURSARY FUND GOLF DAY

Fundraising and Networking

Held at the scenic Rondebosch Golf Club, the annual Marine Bursary Golf Day is a cornerstone fundraising event for the SATS General Botha Old Boys’ Association Bursary Fund and its endeavors to make waves in the lives of young South Africans.

DATE: 30 October 2025
VENUE:  Rondebosch Golf Club (Port of Cape Town)
FORMAT: Golf Day
PRICE: R3200  per four ball

This is more than just a day on the green - it's a powerful swing towards shaping South Africa’s maritime future. Maritime careers offer global opportunities, but tertiary training is expensive and often inaccessible for disadvantaged youth.

The Bursary Fund steps in early - from Grade 10 - to support learners from across South Africa boarding at Lawhill Maritime Centre, where they receive specialized maritime education alongside the Simon’s Town School curriculum. The Bursary Fund also provides these learners training in swimming, sailing, and motorboating, working toward a SA Maritime Safety Authority accredited qualification.

By buying a four ball or sponsoring a hole, you’ll be helping determined young people access training at approved tertiary centres thereby opening doors to rewarding careers at sea and in maritime-related industries.
